Capillary Electrophoresis Workshop

The skills and knowledge developed in capillary electrophoresis workshops program gives  an opportunity for students to seek employment in the biotechnology companies.
The Nevada State College capillary electrophoresis workshops program consist of two components:
  1. Training undergraduates in the use of resources available through the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) and
  2. Certification training on state-of-the-art biotechnology instrumentation.

Undergraduate Research Program

The Undergraduate Research Program at NSC allows undergraduate students to conduct supervised research with faculty mentors. Participants have a hands-on laboratory experience in an emerging field of biomedical science such as genomics, immunology, NMR spectroscopy,  bioinformatics. Throughout their research experience, student researchers interact with and receive guidance from faculty mentors, and attend scientific seminars,  workshops, present posters review and present journal articles at  Journal clubs, and other networking activities. These experiences enrich their science education, allowing them  to gain first-hand knowledge about a scientific career, and give competitive edge on graduate school, medical school and job applications as well as enabling them to contribute to the advancement of science.

The research projects and workshops described above are supported by NIH Grant Number P20 RR-016464 from the INBRE Program of the National Center for Research Resources.
